Privacy notice
monisue sells batana oil to customers in Kenya and Sweden. This notice explains what personal data this website collects today and why. Questions or requests: info@monisue.co.uk.
What we collect
- Nothing about you as you browse. We don't use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies, and the website doesn't record visitors' IP addresses.
- If you email us to order, we receive your name, email address and what you write, which usually includes your phone number and delivery address. We use it only to answer you and to arrange payment and delivery.
- If you order through the website, we receive your name, email address, phone number and delivery address, and what you ordered. We use them only to deliver your order, take payment on delivery and keep our accounts.
- If you create an account, we keep your email address, your name if you give it, the cart you save and which orders are yours. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple, that company tells us your email address and name, and we keep an ID for your account there. We don't receive your password there or anything else from that account.
Cookies
We set up to three small cookies, all needed for the site to work. That's why we don't ask for consent:
- csrftoken: protects the cart and checkout forms against forged requests.
- sessionid: remembers your cart, the order you just placed and, if you sign in, that you're signed in, for 30 days after you last use them. It's only set once you add something to your cart or sign in.
- lang: remembers the language you picked with the language switch, for a year. It's only set if you use the switch.
Where your data is kept
This website runs on a server rented from Hostinger. Our email is provided by Google Workspace, so emails you send us are stored by Google, which may process data outside Kenya and the EU under its own safeguards. We keep order emails for as long as we need them for the order and for our accounts.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to how we use it. Email us and we'll answer within 30 days.
You can delete your account yourself at any time, under My account. We keep your past orders, because the law requires us to keep sales records, but they are no longer linked to you as an account holder.
If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya (odpc.go.ke), or, in Sweden, to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY (imy.se).
When online payment opens, we will update this notice before it goes live.
